IPMS Australia (International Plastic Modellers Society) is a model club run by modellers - for modellers. We have many varied interests, and mainly build scale models of all types, including Aircraft, Military Vehicles, Automotive, Ships, Figures, and Science Fiction.

Our club activities include regular monthly meetings, held on the second Tuesday of every month, at the Ashburton Library, in High Street Road, Ashburton starting at 7:30 PM. Model builders, from novice to experienced, enjoy fun-filled evenings of presentations, tips and contests with other people interested in this hobby. We also host and/or participate in open house displays and conventions at a variety of locations. Come and join us - we look forward to sharing this hobby with you!

Apart from the monthly meetings held at the library, we also often hold competions or displays that enable the public to see our hobby, and in many cases these events act as recruitment drives to obtain new members. Over the Queen's Birthday weekend in June, IPMS host the Australian Model Expo. Actual dates will June 4 to June 6.
